the team

Up until January 2016 the blog was a one woman show.
For the first four years of house in the sand's existence, all content was created by founder Vanessa.

As the website is slowly but surely turning into some serious business, it was about time to find some talented creators to produce posts, photos and videos in order to keep it rolling.

If you're curious and want to find out who's writing and photographing for HITS,
you're in for a treat!

Get to know Team HITS below!

name: Adam Reeve
position: writer
location: Essex, UK

coffee or tea?: I'm British so it's clearly gonna be Tea. It runs through our veins, and is more vital to maintaining our staying-aliveness than Oxygen.
early bird or night owl?: I love staying up til the early hours when everybody's asleep and the world is silent for a little bit. So I'm definitely a willing Nightowl, but an accidental Earlybird too.
spirit animal: I feel like Sloth is an obvious answer so I'll say an Axolot. They're happy little things that always have a smile planted on their face. Just like me - even when I'm screaming internally.
first concert I've attended: My Uncle's this cool ass dude who's been in tons of bands since I've been born. I believe one of his bands in the 90s played a gig at some festival in Basildon and I was there, and it was awesome.
favourite gig I've been to this far: Reading 2014 was THE greatest festival of all time. QOTSA's headlining set on the Friday was the greatest thing of all time. I cried a little bit.
guilty pleasure song: I've been digging a lot of Nelly Furtado lately. Her song "Promiscuous" is dead good. I was also a huge fan of Miley Cyrus' "On My Own" too.
a song I wish I'd written: D'Angelo's "Really Love" as it's the sexiest song around. Can you imagine being the dude that wrote and sang that? Deary me.
the greatest invention: The Internet, or about 4% of it.
favourite city for (live) music: London hands down. I've been to the likes of Manchester, Liverpool, Brighton etc but London has venues everywhere. The coolest ones are the ones that are kinda tucked to the corners, so it's almost like you have to go out of your way to find them. I like that.
non-music related hobbies: Eating a lot of pizza, trying to read all 1300 pages of Stephen King's The Stand, and dancing horribly.
people who deserve a shout out: There's so many. Scott from Clue Records, Zack from Tree Machine Records, Nikki from EatKS, Molly from FutureProof, oh and Bill Gates. Dude's a good guy.
